Rainy Editorial Couple’s Session . Kansas City .

The fun thing about couple’s photography and working with me is that I totally love to mix things up. While this session was actually between two friends (yes— friends who just model together!), it makes for a great way to show couples how sessions don’t have to be intimate, despite what you typically see.

Not every couple is ‘lovey-dovey’ or super intimate and into PDA. And that is 100% okay! Cody and I aren’t super into PDA either and much prefer photoshoots where we can still be ourselves without being too kissy-kissy. I’m totally into planning shoots like this for my couples if they’re not into all the typical ‘couples poses’.

This session is a favorite of mine for a variety of reasons, but they all have to do with trying something new. For starters, I had to think of angles and ‘poses’ that weren’t too close. The couple had to look intimate without actually being intimate—and that is definitely a challenge! However, having two models in front of the camera totally made that a breeze. I also played with different lens tricks which turned out super groovy, not to mention the rain that fell on and off and made for some amazing texture in the photos. This session has so many creative elements and I can’t wait to show them all off for you!
