‘70’s Inspired Beach Day . Big Sur, California .

We had the total honor of documenting these cuties throughout an entire day, from this beachside morning session, editorial afternoon session, and finally their cliffside bridal session. It was the wildest day, in the best way possible. To start off the day we hit up the beach near Big Sur. It was unbelievably cold. Like 30 degrees and misting, cold. Thanks to the fur coats and lots of warm hugs, these two made it through their ‘70s inspired beach session and completely rocked it. You would never know they were freezing their butts off!

Even though the weather was 100% brutal it made for images that can really be felt. You can see the mist in the air and the haziness it was creating. The grey sky and water allowed me to edit all the other colors to pop and give warmth to the photo that wasn’t really there. The little bit of wind gave these two and their amazing hair enough movement for an editorial vibe. So yeah, the weather totally sucked but at the same time, it totally didn’t. It was perfect, actually. This session was just another great reminder that something can be completely out of your control (like the weather) but if you stick with it, your images can turn out even better than you imagined.
