Red Rocks Engagement Session . Colorado Springs, Colorado.
When people think of Colorado they typically think of mountains and lots of snow. While Colorado has plenty of both, they also have hidden gems like the Red Rocks! A lot of people know of the Red Rock amphitheater which holds amazing summer concerts every year but a little bit south of there is this amazing spot! It’s a little hidden and you wouldn’t know that it’s there unless you go looking for it. Cody and I honestly stumbled across it by accident while looking for another popular spot. We were so stoked when we saw it because it was far less crowded than the other spot we were searching for and had so many cool nooks and crannies to adventure into.
What brought us to Colorado originally was the two rad humans in these images—Ashton & Willy! They are getting married in Nebraska but wanted to adventure for their engagement session to somewhere totally different. I love when couples do this! Traveling is a big part of Ashton & Willy’s lives and they enjoy seeing new places and experiencing new things together. They knew they wanted to incorporate that feeling into their engagement pictures since they were planning a big wedding back home.
This made my job super fun because they gave me a general location (southern Colorado) and I got to plan a little adventure for them! Anybody who knows me know that I LOVE planning vacations and little day-trips! I knew for these two that I wanted to do something different than expected, hence the Red Rocks. Red rocks can be super challenging to shoot in because of their unique color but I was pumped to get in there and create! I also knew I wanted to show them a new spot they hadn’t been to before, so when we stumbled upon this area I knew this was it. I’m so glad everything worked out seamlessly because these two ended up loving this spot, and they totally crushed their session! So much so that it’s getting featured in a major magazine in summer 2021—I’ll be keeping the specific deets on the down-low for now but keep an eye open for all the info soon!
