Black Hills Engagement Session . Black Hills, South Dakota .

The Black Hills of South Dakota are like nothing else! They offer some of the most amazing views I have ever seen without the long strenuous hike that most places would need. The location of this shoot was literally a 5 minute walk off the main road with almost no incline! The views were so rad, I think we all could have just sat there and talked about life while admiring the world beneath us.

This location was also nestled between two of our favorite places in South Dakota: Keystone and Custer State Park. We love staying in Keystone when we visit this area! It’s really touristy, but in the good way of there’s always something to do. We’ve zip-lined, mined for gold, and got tipsy at the wineries there. It really is a great spot for a weekend getaway! Custer State Park is also amazing and has the best views, see some of them here!

But, what’s even better than the epic view is this couple we met up with there. Meet Steele & Justice! They were bubbly and totally personable the moment we connected with them. It was like hanging with old friends! We even had the same “how we met story”, which is crazyyyy, because it’s an odd one! Both of us couples met during a school event called Mock Trial—which likely has only happened to us and them, and no one else ever haha. Justice & I also share a love for all things vintage and she owns the cutest little boutique where she sells her thrifted finds. You definitely need to check it out!

Basically, we had the best time exploring this new area and connecting with some new friends.
