Disco Engagement Session . Omaha, Nebraska .
If you know me, you know that I love the 1970’s—including Disco! I connected instantly with Taylor when she reached out about her and Brendan’s engagement shoot. They wanted a shoot that reflected who they truly and authentically are and that is exactly what I strive to create for all of my couples. They mentioned to me that they love going to concerts, dancing, and have a retro style. I instantly went to the drawing board and in no time I had a wild shoot planned for them that included lots of dancing, great style, and all the child-like fun you could have! That’s right, a modern day disco party!
They mentioned that they both spent significant time in Portland and love the atmosphere of the city. Since the Midwest is a little different than Portland and the vibe just couldn’t be matched, I thought that a studio shoot would fit them perfectly. That way we could bring all the west coast vibes to them! They loved the idea for the space and from there I was able to create a magical place for them to feel at home in! I went for a “70’s disco party” theme and got some streamers, records, and roller skates. The space already had the most perfectly suited furniture thanks to Scriptown Studios in Omaha, Nebraska. The studio is owned by friends of ours who also run an amazing thrift-store!
When these two showed up for the shoot I almost keeled over at the site of their outfits. They were dressed perfectly from head-to-toe, I could not have picked out better outfits myself for this disco party! Trust me, you’re going to want to scroll all the way through this gallery just to see their looks. Ultimately, this shoot was all about channeling the true relationship of Brenden & Taylor and doing that in the most authentic & fun way possible. Scroll on to see dancing, singing, and some silly-string art!
