Los Angeles Mountain Engagement Session

Rarely do we show up to a site unseen. Choosing an engagement session location is really important to us, because we like to know what everything looks like before we arrive — what the foliage is, where the sun might hit, how traffic looks, etc. So it’s super rare for us to let a couple choose a location without us being able to scout it first. But more important to us than being able to help choose a location for an engagement shoot is that the location either matches the couples vision, or means something to them personally.

So when Marah reached out about her and Rico’s engagement session and told us she had the perfect spot picked out that was special to them we were super excited. The only hang up we had was that we had never actually been to that location before, and had no idea what to expect. We didn’t have the time to location scout before their session so we had to truly trust that this spot would make perfect sense once we arrived. And boy, did it.

Not only was the view absolutely incredible, but we could see the LA skyline from where we were. There was a perfect little trail we stumbled on and the sun set at just the right time. It was literal magic. But more importantly, this location was special to Marah and Rico. They went spent their first date driving through these mountains in Marahs little rental car and talked for hours, taking in the sites and getting to know each other. Having them share this special spot with us meant so much. And the cherry on top was being able to seamlessly incorporate their van that they travel in and Marah’s incredible floral work. She’s a killer florist and if you’re getting married in SOCAL, you definitely need to check her out.
