A Halloween Themed Wedding . Lincoln, Nebraska .

Kaylan and Dylan threw the ultimate Halloween Wedding and they rightfully re-named it a ‘Hallowedding’! I can’t even begin to tell you how pumped Cody and I were when we first met with these two to discuss their big day. We instantly connected over our Bernese Mountain Dogs, our love for sports, and breaking wedding traditions! These two knew exactly what they were going for and went for it. If you want some tips on how to throw an amazing holiday-themed wedding then this is it!

I know a lot of people think holiday-themed weddings can be tacky, and honestly, they can be. It’s all about how to do things the right way. These two knew they wanted a Halloween wedding because they wanted their day to feel like a big fun get-together and less formal than your typical big wedding! They stayed away from anything overly tacky and went in the direction of classy for the ceremony and fun-party of the reception. It was the perfect mix!

Here are some tips you can take away from Kaylan & Dylan’s Hallowedding!

  1. Incorporate Holiday colors into your theme subtly—in bridesmaids/groomsmen outfits, small pieces of decor

  2. Have fun with your attire and see if there’s a way to fit it into the theme—Dylan loves bright colors and textures so his outfit would have been killer no matter what! Halloween allowed him to add some extra fun to his shoes and socks choice.

  3. Allow guests to partake in the holiday spirit—Kaylan & Dylan invited guests to dress up in costume for their big day!

  4. Use your holiday to make a big entrance—these two came into the Purge alarm sound and had a fog machine rolling! Not to mention their masks were totally epic and appropriate for the holiday! Personally, Michael Meyers is my favorite villain!

  5. This isn’t really due to a holiday theme, but Dylan’s groomsmen wore all different suits! It was so cool and they were all bold and fun!

What’s even more amazing about this couple and their day is the story that touched so many people People Magazine picked it up. Yep, that’s right! Kaylan is extremely caring and selfless, so her act of kindness on her wedding day didn’t surprise anyone, except her cousin’s husband! Kaylan’s cousin was supposed to get married a few months before her, but due to COVID-19, their big day was canceled. Her cousin never got to wear her wedding dress or dance with her husband or father. Kaylan wanted her cousin to have her moments still, so she had her cousin sneak into her wedding dress for a surprise first dance with her new husband and father. It was so special to capture! You will totally want to scroll all the way through this gallery to see those special moments, along with all the great details of this ‘Hallowedding’!
