If you are looking for the best Los Angeles wedding reception ideas you have come to the right place! This blog post is dedicated to the awesome, fun, and lively wedding reception that was held for Dylan & Jacquelyn after they eloped in Los Angeles just weeks prior, on a whim! These two knew that having a fun and party-like atmosphere was the biggest key to planning their reception, and they needed just the right space for that. They settled on an adorable wine bar that is local to their neighborhood called Melody. It had all the right vibes for a night full of fun, food, and drinks. And what a night it was!

They also booked rooms at their favorite hotel, The Hoxton, to chill with their closest friends and get ready at, pre-wedding reception. This hotel was a perfect mix of mid-century design and clean elegance! There were so many amazing rooms to photograph, and the upstairs bar/lounge/pol area was really epic. We didn’t have enough time to grab photos everywhere that we could have, but nonetheless, it was amazing. The Hoxton is really the perfect hotel to get ready at if you’re looking for a great spot in in downtown Los Angeles.

The biggest request that this couple had was to have their wedding reception documented as candidly as possible. They wanted to skip formal family photos, and opt for the more relaxed look of a ‘behind the scenes’ camera. Of course, wedding reception photos are always more on the candid end for us, but this was a new idea we hadn’t really explored before. And now that we have, let us say that we are obsessed with the idea and look of the images that came from being in stealth mode. We were able to document so many genuine reactions and emotions that flowed so easily between all the friends and family there. We still grabbed the bride and groom for some more “formal” photos here and there, but overall the candidness of this night was documented just how it should have been.
